FROM TRIPADVISOR -
We took the full day tour the day after my friend’s wedding. This tour was on Friday December 29th! Although it was windy and a bit rainy, Ray kept the tour very interesting and was VERY flexible with us. The lunch place he recommended was good and he gave us enough information that when we were able to walk about and “do our own things” the time we spent doing those things were great!(Sneem, Charlie Chaplain, etc.)
He also knows good picture spots so we didn’t waste our time wondering if it would be a good place to take pictures. Also, as it got darker, we got very targeted on things left we wanted to see. VERY organized and articulate communicator! Ray is GREAT!
Thankyou Ray for a most informative & enjoyable trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We are so glad to have taken the bus trip as opposed to driving otherwise we would not have had the commentary or local knowledge. Stopped at a lovely spot for lunch overlooking a very rough Atlantic ocean. We had all the elements today but in no way did it negatively impact on our trip. The scenery was very varied and stunning.
We just took the Ring of Kerry tour with Ray and it was an amazing all day trip. We had a perfect day of weather, stopping along the way for pictures, great food at Dooley’s, and thanks to Ray we learned so much more than we could have ever known if we drove it ourselves.
If I’m back in Ireland and in the Killarney area I will be using Deros tours to see the Dingle peninsula. I’ll also be seeking out Ray for the tour. He deserves every kudos he gets on this site.
Great value and great day in Ireland
I took a Ring of Kerry Tour from Deros Sightseeing Tours on 09November. The guide/driver was Ray. He was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He did a great job of providing commentary and information about the places we passed by, and made frequent stops for photos. The lunch stop was very nice. Despite the fog, we had some gorgeous views and a lovely day. Ray definitely made the trip very informative and interesting. The tour took us through some really gorgeous countryside. I would recommend this tour.
The Ring of Kerry tour is a must is you are visiting Ireland. I highly recommend Ray from Deros as he loves his job and does a lot of independent research to share with guests on tours, makes you laugh the whole time and is friendly and accommodating. Thanks for a great day Ray!- Nathan and Rose
Ray was our bus driver and he was very good. Friendly and very informative. I did Ring of Kerry twice because it was foggy the first time. So worth the money. Take Deros tours. Better than the others.
We had driver Ray on a small bus tour. He is a great guide and driver. I recommend him very much. There trip was all day with several stops for photos and sights. He picked a great place for lunch too. This tour was very interesting and fun.
My sister & I did the Ring of Kerry Tour today with Ray and it was great! Beautiful scenery, lots of photo opportunities and excellent commentary about the people & places in the area. Ray was very friendly – happy to chat and answer questions – knowledgeable and had a few good jokes up his sleeve! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore the area.
We had Ray as our driver and guide! He did an excellent job navigating the road while entertaining us and stopped for plenty of photo stops along the way!
Ray was our driver and he was fantastic .. EXTREMELY knowledgable about this beautiful region and Ireland in general … great tour, would recommend to anyone … thank you sir!
We did the Ring of Kerry tour today with Ray. He was a great guide who made the day interesting despite the rain and fog! Comfy coach, adequate stop time and a delicious lunch at Dooley’s in Waterville . Thank you!
I did the Ring of Kerry tour yesterday with Ray. It was a great tour. Ray was full of knowledge and I loved his jokes throughout the day. I would highly recommend doing this.
My wife and I were looking for an affordable tour so we could view the Ring of Kerry. We booked Deros about an hour before the tour started and they were very friendly and helpful. The tour lasted about 6 hours and we got stop to see all the beautiful sights along the Ring with our amazing tour guide Ray. He provided us a tour full of interesting information, history, and even some jokes along the way. He also went out of his way to ensure everyone got a chance to stop for pictures and ask any questions they had. Would highly recommend! Great service!
We went to Ring of Kerry on 10/29 and had the most beautiful, sparkling weather which was lucky, but even luckier was our driver Ray. He is funny, witty, kind and made the drive even more enjoyable with historic tales and jokes. He tells it all like it’s the first time he’s said it and interestingly enough, we often found ourselves referring to things he said throughout our trip (“remember what Ray said about…”) his stories are quite relevant and memorable.
The scenery is as magical as you would imagine and I highly recommend this tour, especially with Ray at the wheel.
This was my first ever bus tour, as we tend to go the rental car/guide book route, so I don’t have a point of reference. The woman who sold us the tickets led us to believe that we’d have lots of space, however when we boarded the bus (15 minutes early) it was packed and we almost had to sit apart (another passenger was kind enough to offer to move). So the front end customer service can use some work around setting realistic expectations. The bus was a mini-bus and a little tight (my tall husband was rather packed into his seat). However, our driver and guide was such a charming, kind, knowledgeable and funny host that he became one of the highlights of our 12 day tour. His name is Ray, and if you can book a tour with him I would highly recommend the experience regardless of the other shortcomings we encountered.
I booked this on a whim while staying in Killarney. The company’s office is conveniently located downtown and the staff was very helpful. The tour was great! Our guide, Ray, was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The scenery was, of course, spectacular. Although this was my second trip to Ireland, I had never realized that such varied and exotic landscapes existed there. We also took in quite a few historical sights – medieval churches and monasteries, ancient forts, and ubiquitous beehive huts. We stopped for lunch in Dingle, a quaint fishing town with lots of good food options. Ray also got us back to Killarney on time. I’m so glad I signed up for this tour!
Took this bus tour spur of the moment (decided to book it the night before) and glad we did. Saved us the narrow road driving and allowed all to see the sights rather than focus on the driving. Ray, our driver was very informative, entertaining and accommodating. Nice clean bus with comfortable seating compared to a lot of bus tours I have been on.
I’m sure the Ring of Kerry tour would stand on its own – even if the driver were completely silent from beginning to end, the scenery would speak for itself. But happily, that was not the case with our tour. We had the good fortune to have Batt as our guide. Hilarious, informative, and a joy to spend the day with. Batt is a wealth of information: we learned so much about the area, and felt like we got a glimpse of some of the Ring’s hidden secrets. And in between the stories, Batt sprinkled in jokes and songs and even a poem or two! A wonderful, wonderful day. Make sure your camera’s batteries are fully charged. You will not believe the number of shot-worthy sights you will see around every corner.
Great Ring of Kerry tour, lots of photo stops and good commentary from the driver, Tony. We saw the beautiful Ladies View, the Bay of Dingle, the lakes of Killarney, Waterville, Sneem and others.
